  1. Updates
    A. Civic Center Library joins our 10.212. network!
       i. CCELIB is
       ii. Trend server, MARINet will eventually move
    B. Group 4 and Group 5 PCs on order
       i. Group 4 is for Novato, Fairfax staff PCs
       ii. Group 5 is for Childrens' PCs at
       iii. We are rebuilding WebPACs/OPACs with the
         best of the surplus machines
    C. Next Year (03/04) smaller replacement program
    D. Novato project (our part) about 1/2 done
  2. E-mail situation and plans
    A. is Exchange/VPN only
       i. Single-user, single machine
       ii. Not available from outside, yet (6 months?)
       iii. Nice calendar, but slow performance
    B. is everybody else
       i. Everyone has
       ii. People with Exchange can check
  with Outlook
    C. We have VPN accounts for all staff members
       i. VPN client (Checkpoint) will be installed on
          all staff machines
       ii. Shortcuts to The Mine will be provided
       iii. We will train on how to sign in, out

    A. Internet Explorer 6.0 for public PCs
       i. Image Resizing off
       ii. Image toolbar off
       iii. Empty Temp folders on exit
       iv. Display ALT tags (ADA)

    B. More on Public Web Browser 2.0
       i. Different installation path
    • Version 1 installed to
      c:/program files/publicbrowser/publicbrowser.exe
    • Version 2 installs
      to c:/program files/team software/public web browser v2/pwb.exe
    • For Internet PCs we force version 2 to install just like version 1

       ii. To change the home page
         Open pwb.ini and look for "HomePage="

       iii. Differences from v.1.25

    • Different files to set configuration
      pwb.ini and url.txt
    • We can't rename buttons or make custom buttons
