  1. Updates
     
    1. New VPN officially on hold for the Library (list of problems)
    2. New problem website on public net PCs: IMVU
    3. Cheap USB ports (on media bays) don't light up when working
    4. Deep Freeze: if it's not on, Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F6, usual password, restart
    5. We're updating the PC inventory by year's end: 355 PCs now, 104 printers, 3 opacs, 40 webpacs
    6. Libtech (10.230.10.44) being replaced before Jan. 1: lots of implications
      • Trend server
      • Shutdown (ASD) server
      • Libtech website and software library
      • Webpac and Pubnet home pages
      • E-mail server for self check project
      • Deep Freeze and Anti-Executable console
      • New server to be the home of the "L Drive"

  2. Topics

    1. E Drives for Everyone
      • NAS (Network Attached Storage) boxes
      • NAS boxes are at MCI, CMA, CCE, FAI, SNO, NOV and PRE
      • Personal Folders (E: drives) are secured by logon usnernames and passwords
      • Group folders (circ, reference, allstaff) are possible as well
    2. FY 2010-11 Computer Replacement Plan
      • Draft due by Jan. 9
      • Plan A (low funding) and Plan B (measure passes)
      • Replacing approx. 20 PCs
      • Testing mini-PCs (hand around the Ion) for circ, ref, etc.
