    1. SGV to close 6/25, equipment being repurposed
    2. Fairfax expected to add 2 Internet PCs (total of 8)
    3. Windows 7 due out Oct. 22
    4. Quick look: Microsoft's Bing Search Engines (11% share, replaces MSN Search and Live Search)
    5. We are looking into wireless printing (PrinterOn, through The Active Network)
    6. ADA PCs all installed, FAI and NOV waiting to put them into service
    7. For Express Lane self checks, we're looking at removing the patron name from the top of the checkout display (see sample screen)

      • Java, Adobe Reader and Flash
      • How to turn Java updates off: Control Panel
      • How to turn Apple updates off: Start Menu, Apple Software Update (or c:\program files\apple software update\SoftwareUpdate.exe)
      • Adobe Flash, go ahead and update when possible
      • Adobe Acrobat 8.0, Help, Check for Updates, Preferences, Automatically Check for Updates (uncheck)
        Also, consider updating to Adobe 9 manually
      • Adobe Acrobat 9.0, Edit, Preferences, General, Check for Updates (uncheck)
      • Manually performing an update often resets the "do not update" settings
